In conventional process, data is first output to film and then this film is used for exposing printing plate. CTP removes these steps, decreasing plate making cost and increasing processing speed.
In addition, CTP enables the digital data created at the design stage to be exposed directly to the printing plate with high accuracy. This can eliminates troubles that frequently happen in the conventional processes which has many steps before the original data to be exposed on to the printing plate.
The PlateRite Niagara is the most affordable thermal CtP in the Screen family. It is designed for the print shop that doesn't require high definition screening capability beyond 200 lpi, but needs modest output, up tp 11 plates per hour. With simple plate loading options the Niagara is available as a manual or semi-automatic model only.
